3D ENVIRONMENT / LIGHTING ARTIST

JOB SUMMARY

At Tangram Studio, the 3D Environment/Lighting Artist creates textures and objects that will populate the game’s levels. They work closely with the level artist to define and implement the visual recipes that shape the look of each level. In the final production phase, they collaborate with the level artist to meet lighting and performance goals, ensuring a smooth user experience.
 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Create 3D textures and objects.

  • Create cohesive ambient lighting.

  • Work with or without visual concepts to create game level objects and textures.

  • Model, sculpt, and texture environment assets.

  • Receive and address artistic feedback.

  • Provide placeholder models to support the level artist's progress.

  • Optimize levels.


     

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong creative mindset, working iteratively to find the best solution.

  • Excellent artistic skills: color and image composition.

  • Independent and self-motivated.


     

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
 

  • 3 to 5 years of industry experience as an environment artist or related role

  • Unreal Engine

  • Substance Designer

  • ZBrush

  • Blender or other 3D software

  • Photoshop

Job type: Contract

Salary: $60,000 to $75,000 per year
